How it works

1

Create a free account

Sign up with a username and email. That is all we ask for.

2

Set up your pool

Pick a tournament, the number of teams, your scoring, roster rules and a draft date.

3

Invite your friends

Share your join code and pool password. Friends will be able to then create an account and join the pool.

4

Draft and follow

Host an offline or online draft, then keep track of the standings as the pool progresses!

Simple easy-to-use draft portal

When it comes draft day, everyone in your pool drafts together in real time. The draft board on the left shows every one of your picks highlighted, so you always know when your turn is coming up!

Filter the player pool by position or team, search for a name, and sort by stats like points, points per game, wins or shutouts. Switch to your watchlist to see the players you ranked ahead of time, and check any user's roster on the right to see what positions they still need.

Your pool, your rules

We know how important flexibility is when it comes to pools. Decide how many points each stat available is worth, and choose your tiebreakers. Pick the number of teams, the draft date and how long each user gets to pick.

  • Any number of players, no position limits
  • Skaters only (forwards and defense)
  • Skaters and goalies
  • A set number of forwards, defense and goalies

Neat features

Smart autodraft

Can't make it? The autodraft bot uses your rankings and draft plans, and won't fill your roster with six goalies.

Personal rankings

Build your own watchlist for every pool ahead of the draft so you are ready when your pick comes up.

"Your pick" notifications

Get a push notification when you are on the clock, even if you're not on the page at that moment.

Live standings

Once the draft is done, view everyone's roster and keep track of who's atop the leaderboard!

Frequently asked questions

Is The PuckVerse free?

Yes. Creating a pool, inviting friends and running a live draft are all free. The site is supported by ads.

What is the difference between a live and an offline draft?

A live draft has a scheduled date and time, and everyone drafts together online with a pick timer. An offline draft has no scheduled time, which works well if your group drafts in person and just wants a place to keep rosters and standings.

How is the draft order decided?

The pool admin can set the order manually, randomize it right away, or have it randomized automatically one hour before the draft starts so nobody can complain about it being rigged.

What happens if I miss my pick?

If the pick timer runs out, the autodraft bot picks for you. It follows your personal rankings first and your draft plans (for example "forward in round 1"), and it has built-in limits so your roster stays balanced even if you never set anything up.

How does scoring work?

The pool admin chooses how many points each stat is worth. Skaters can score on goals, assists, game-winning goals and hat tricks. Goalies can score on wins, regulation losses, overtime/shootout losses, and shutouts. Ties in the standings are broken with tiebreakers the admin picks, like points per game or total goals.

Can I change the pool settings after creating it?

Yes. Scoring, roster rules, the draft date and more can be edited by the pool admin up until the draft is complete.

How often are stats updated?

Stats are updated as quickly as possible. The PuckVerse is run by one person with a day job, so allow some leniency here!
